Wedding Guest Dresses: Resort Chic

Yes, it’s absolutely frigid outside right now, making it near impossible to imagine yourself in anything other than sweats. However, that Save The Date hanging on the fridge is a happy reminder of your upcoming destination wedding. Which means it’s time to start shopping!

Most of the time, destination weddings will describe the attire as “beach formal,” or “beach semi-formal.” The best way to go about dressing appropriately is to consider the weather, as well as the venue. If you’ll be outdoors in Mexico, you may want something light-weight. If you’re indoors at a resort, it might be cooler, in which case you should consider a maxi dress or something with thicker material. Regardless, bright colors, florals, and fun patterns are always my go-to when choosing a destination wedding dress!

Also, take note of whether you’ll be on a hard surface (indoors), or soft surface (sand/grass) and plan footwear accordingly! Most destination weddings are outdoors, and a block/wedge heel is a must.

I love love love any site that has return shipping, making Lulus, Revolve, and Vici my top picks. See below for some of my favorite options!
