Gender Reveal Party

Finally!!! Cat’s out of the bag….IT’S A GIRL!!!! Adam and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome a little sassy munchkin into our family in October.

When finding out the gender, it was important to us that we have that moment to ourselves at first. We decided it would be best to absorb that information in an intimate setting, just the two of us, and then later reveal it to friends and family in a fun way.

Because Adam wanted to find out RIGHT AWAY, and I preferred to wait until I was past the first trimester before knowing, Adam was able to surprise me with a confetti-filled balloon. This “Oh Baby” balloon was massive and seeing the pink confetti explode everywhere was the perfect way to create that special moment.

Now it was time to plan a party for our reveal to friends and family. We wanted it to be something that people would have fun with, so incorporated witty decor in with the pink and blue.

These “I’m just here for the sex” flags were a hit. I chose to stick them in our catered sandwiches, but they could also go in cupcakes, cookies, etc.

We also carried this saying into the napkins. The other big hit of the party was our display of pink and blue m&ms with “nuts” and “no nuts”. To create this, I got canisters from Target, ordered pink and blue m&ms, added peanuts to the blue batch, and then got these chalk labels to indicate which was which!

I also took a page out of Pinterest and got these plastic champagne coupes and filled them with pink and blue cotton candy, which we then poured champagne on top of.

When it came time for guests to vote if they thought we were having a girl or boy, we used a simple white ballot box and taped our ultrasound picture to the front. These were a cute option we found, too, which come with voting cards.

Finally, it was time to do the reveal. We decided on pink or blue confetti cannons that shot 30 feet in the air. They were amazing, HOWEVER, mine did malfunction and not pop right away. I blame it on my lack of arm muscle and not twisting it properly, but I would recommend getting two cannons (one for each of you), so you have a back up in case one doesn’t go off on time!
